Key Duties & Responsibilities Delivers margin goals Manages vendor base and regulates production flow within vendor matrix. Oversees monitoring of production and communication of production flow within vendor matrix. Oversees development procedures and vendor cost negotiations. Evaluates new vendors for inclusion in vendor matrix. Facilitates the Production team’s partnership with Design and Merchandising in researching materials and fabrics. Ensures all technical aspects of product are prepared for the production process. Oversees the review of technical packages Oversees and advises corrections to product specifications. Oversees and participates in determining factory allocation strategy. Negotiates directly with manufacturers to resolve large-scale quality issues and directs best course of action for resolution. Conducts meetings for proto costs and previews and final buy presentation. · Oversees and approves final cost sheets Provides development and training to direct reports through on-the-job training, behavioral feedback and modeling, coaching and identifying opportunities for formal training. Background Required · 8 years progressive experience in apparel development and production including denim and knits. Screenprint experience is helpful. If experience is “higher end” must be excited about delivering a high quality product at a value price. · At least 2 years’ experience in fashion/apparel retail · 5 years management experience · Expert knowledge of production to include: Fabric and garment construction Manufacturing and product engineering Trade regulations Testing protocol Product integrity Production cycle timeline Calendar management Costing Strong business management skills and knowledge of financials as it applies to business strategies.
